Kitchens
KITCHEN is one of the most demanding rooms in the house in terms of design.
It is one of the most frequently used rooms, exposed to changing environmental conditions, as well as increased wear parameters. That is why Dubinski Joinery Studio pays particular attention to a number of elements which constitute the basis of a proper design, manufacture, and consequently satisfaction of home-dwellers, which arise from the use of this wonderful space, the heart of each home.
HOW TO MAKE A QUALITY CHOICE?
We usually start by asking questions:
1 How often do you cook? – kitchen ergonomics
2 How big is our kitchen? do we want to have it connected with the dining room and living room, or is it supposed to be a separate room?
3 What style is it supposed to be? – types of kitchen fronts.
Kitchen ergonomics
1.A kitchen planned properly is divided into 5 zones: stock, storage, washing, preparation and cooking. Each of these zones has its own equipment. These zones should be aligned in an order mentioned above, regardless of the size and shape of the kitchen furniture.
2. The height of kitchen cabinets. We work standing up in the kitchen usually, therefore the height of cabinets should be appropriate to the person who cooks the most.. Experts believe that the height of the countertop should be 10-15 cm below the height of this person’s elbow, with a tolerance of a few centimetres, if the kitchen is used by several people. The distance between the hanging cabinets and the countertop should be at least 45 cm. The depth of wall hanging cabinets is usually 28 – 30 cm.
WITH OR WITHOUT THE DINING ROOM
A kitchen, which is usually a separate, enclosed room is also used frequently as an everyday dining room. This is a very good solution, provided that the kitchen is big enough, i.e. minimum 15 m2. In this case, the best system is an L-shaped or a U-shaped fit. In case of such an arrangement the table is set by the wall with no cupboards. In such a closed space a kitchen island or peninsula is often an interesting solution. If your kitchen is little, we recommend a kitchen open to living room or dining room. Such kitchens are often separated from a room by a bar, a low wall or an island, which can also serve as a dining room for family members. A table can also be separated.
KITCHEN FURNITURE FRONTS
It is the noblest version of furniture fronts. Many different types of wood are used in production, both domestic and exotic. The advantages of wooden fronts are: a unique grain and figure, ability to choose among a wide range of species coloured in various shades, the possibility of restoration. The fronts’ physical characteristics differ depending on the type of wood they are made of. This type of fronts goes exceptionally well with countertops made of wood or stone. As a result we get an eco-product made of natural materials.
Our joinery specialises in the production of high quality wooden fronts. As one of the few companies in the market, we have developed our own method of layered wood gluing. In the process it becomes extremely resistant to deformation. Thanks to our unique technology we are able to bring our customers exceptional, stable products and safe long elements that are prone to warping. As a result we get precise functioning for many years.
Mouldings, panels and ornaments are painted part by part and only then they are combined together. Thanks to this our customers receive a product that will look like new for many years of usage.
WORKTOPS
STONE WORKTOPS Made of granite, marble or travertine on request; expensive, but very elegant. Resistant to various factors, but may be subject to staining if not impregnated well. They offer plenty of advantages for their price: they are durable, very hard and therefore resistant to mechanical damage, resistant to heat, cracking and scratching, easy to clean up and ideal for a variety of kitchen operations e.g. kneading
WOODEN WORKTOPS If impregnated properly, they are resistant to water; oil impregnation is easily repeated, and when they are scratched it is no problem to renew them. Coat them with a lacquer or a melamine and they become resistant to staining. Unfortunately, wooden worktops are not resistant to temperatures above 100 ° C and if they are poorly protected they can warp and dry. They are also not resistant to mechanical damage. On the other hand their naturalness looks very pleasant and gives the kitchen a noble look.
All this information is just a beginning. We will take care for the rest personally for you. We select the appropriate hinges and fittings. We advise what equipment should be used in your kitchen furniture. Our goal is your absolute satisfaction, starting from the quality of making through the visual impression, ending with long-term functionality.
